Amanda Nunes has momentum behind her and she has no intention of slowing down. The Brazilian has become the — perhaps surprising — Queen of the UFC women’s 135-pound division after destroying two icons in Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.
And now, Nunes has her eyes on history.
The women’s UFC bantamweight champion took to social media over the weekend to make a call for the winner of the upcoming Holly Holm – Germaine de Randamie bout at UFC 208, which is for the first ever UFC women’s featherweight championship.
I'm ready to make wmma history…. I want the winner. @danawhite @ufc @seanshelby vamos Fazer historia no mundo quero lutar com quem ganhar. pic.twitter.com/VQXyp4SCaO

Should Nunes be granted the shot, and defeats either Holm or de Randamie, she would become the fourth person in UFC history to hold two belts in two divisions and the second to do so simultaneously.
The first (and as yet only) person to achieve such a feat is of course Conor McGregor, who held both the featherweight and lightweight titles after defeating Jose Aldo at UFC 194 and Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 for their respective titles.
While the UFC have not yet given a response to Nunes, the introduction of their women’s 145-pound division was notably harmed when featherweight star Cris Cyborg failed a drugs test. With Cyborg looking at a potential one year suspension, the UFC will no doubt be looking for any possible contenders they could bring to 145.
