The next chapter in the winding tale that has been the progression of the UFC’s featherweight championship will be written on Saturday night.
José Aldo, awarded the title after the UFC opted to strip McGregor last year, will face the considerable skills of interim champion Max Holloway. The Hawaiian has looked practically unbeatable since losing a decision to McGregor back in August 2013, winning ten straight bouts and winning interim gold on the way but in Aldo, a fighter who has tasted defeat just once in more than a decade, he faces the most robust test yet of his championship pedigree.
As for how the fight will play out, you can check in with John Gooden and Dan Hardy’s Inside The Octagon below where they analyse each fighter’s strength and weaknesses ahead of Saturday night’s pivotal battle.
