In Las Vegas on Wednesday morning, the Nevada State Athletic Commission turned pushed the already historic Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather contest even further into the record books.
Prior to a decision made this morning, boxers weighing over 147-pounds are obligated to wear 10-ounce gloves. Today, the rules changed. After citing the hybrid MMA vs. boxing nature of the bout, the NSAC ruled unanimously that the gloves could in fact be 8-ounces.
Speaking exclusively to TheMacLife.com moments after the decision was made, NSAC Executive Director Bob Bennett spoke about McGregor/Mayweather, the glove change, and the financial implications for the city of Las Vegas.
