Bellator haven’t wasted any time in putting Myles Jury to work.
Just days after signing a deal with the former UFC lightweight contender, Jury has been placed by Bellator officials into a high profile bout with former UFC champion Benson Henderson at the promotion’s second event of the year in Dublin, Ireland on September 27. The fight will top the DAZN tape delayed portion of the Bellator 227 card, while James Gallagher vs. Cal Ellenor remains the featured bout of the Bellator Dublin section of the event.
Jury (17-4) represents the latest UFC alum to join the Bellator ranks and holds wins against the likes of Takanori Gomi, Michael Johnson and Diego Sanchez, though he was unsuccessful in his two last fights on his UFC contract as he lost to Chad Mendes a year ago and, more recently, Andre Fili in February.
Henderson (27-8), formerly listed as one of the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighters, has won three straight in the Bellator cage afer losses to Patricky Freire, Michael Chandler and Andrey Koreshkov — the latter two of which were for the promotion’s lightweight and welterweight titles respectively.
