Right now, somewhere in Abu Dhabi, Team McGregor is combining to help prepare Conor McGregor for his January 23 rematch with old foe Dustin Poirier.

In addition to the legions of nutritionists, health experts and others inside the camp, McGregor has also added some new training partners to the mix — and he had some significant praise for the 15-1 Irish professional boxer Dylan Moran, one of the several fighters tasked with trading leather with McGregor ahead of UFC 257.

And as McGregor says, Moran is one to keep an eye on.

The Waterford man spent two weeks with McGregor as part of his training camp in Portugal and asked online about how the sparring with Moran has gone, McGregor was full of praise.

“Very tough!” McGregor said of Moran. “I got a nice a shot that clipped the nose upward and made it bleed. The rounds were super close tho. Razor! Dylan is one of the better boxers I’ve ever shared the ring with. A phenomenally exciting Irish talent!”

As for Moran, the 26-year-old poised to make a big impact on the international scene, he told Irish-Boxing.com that the spars have been hugely beneficial.

“The sparring was great really exciting stuff the two of us really gelled. It was a high pace and great work. It was that kind of sparring that everyone was clapping at the end of it,” he said.

McGregor has regularly worked with Irish boxers in preparation for his fights. Tiernan Bradley assisted McGregor as he got ready for his August 2017 fight with Floyd Mayweather, while Conor Wallace was one of the chief sparring partners ahead of McGregor’s rematch with Nate Diaz a year prior.
