The UFC’s latest stint of events (as well as their debut on ABC) is a go after Friday’s early morning weigh-ins in Abu Dhabi as former featherweight champion Max Holloway and top contender Calvin Kattar made weight ahead of Saturday’s main event scrap.
Both men hit the featherweight non-title limit of 146-pounds for a fight in which the winner will rise further towards a title bout, with Holloway intending to avoid what would be a three-fight skid against the sixth-ranked Kattar, winner of four of his last five.
Elsewhere on the card, Carlos Condit and Matt Brown both hit 171-pounds ahead of their long-awaited welterweight scrap, while the returning Santiago Ponzinibbio unfurled a banner in tribute to his late compatriot Diego Maradona ahead of his fight with China’s Li Jingliang.
