Israel Adesanya’s return to the Octagon will be with fans.
The middleweight champion who has competed twice in empty arenas during the pandemic is set to rematch Marvin Vettori in Glendale, Arizona, as confirmed by the UFC this evening. UFC 263 will take place on June 12, and could see around 18,000 fans in attendance at the Gila River Arena.
It marks the third event the UFC will introduce fans to since crowds started being permitted to live events. Ironically, the two middleweight’s first fight was in the same location.
Adesanya was last seen in a losing effort at 205-pounds against Jan Blachowicz, but remains one of the more popular stars on the UFC roster. In Vettori, he meets a man he defeated earlier in their careers, in a fight which the Italian maintains he was the rightful victor of.
