For the first time in two years the UFC is coming back to the English capital.

The promotion took an enforced break from holding events in the UK due to difficulties associated with the Covid-19 pandemic but have today confirmed their return for what will be the first event since Jorge Masvidal KO’d Darren Till, silencing the O2 Arena in the process.

The 2020 iteration of the event was intended to feature Leon Edwards and Tyron Woodley in the headliner but that was called off, while the UFC was unable to even begin to book a show in London last year for obvious reasons.

This year’s show, which will take place in The O2 on March 19, doesn’t yet have a main event attached to it but it is likely that the card will have several of the promotion’s British fighters booked to it, like Paddy Pimblett (who is liked to a fight with Jared Gordon), Tom Aspinall, Jack Shore and Molly McCann.

Darren Till will also inevitably be linked to the card, while highly rated prospect Muhammad Mokaev is also expected to make his UFC debut on the show.

“Every time we put on an event in London it’s an unbelievable experience,” Dana White said of the forthcoming event. “The fans are incredible, and the fights are always off the charts.  It’s a different kind of energy in England. And I can’t wait to get back there with a fight card on March 19th.”

Tickets will go on sale on the morning of February 4.
