Longtime SBG Ireland members Lee Hammond and Cian Cowley will be bringing wins back from Romania this weekend after both were successful in their latest bouts.
Hammond, considered by many to be among the finest prospects in Irish MMA, improved his career record to 3-0 with a third successive TKO win, this time against hometown fighter Bogdan Blajan who entered the cage with a 2-1 record. Hammond’s latest victory comes just three weeks after the former amateur standout secured a first round TKO win against the previously unbeaten Jamie Hay in what was his Bellator MMA debut in Dublin last month.

It was Hammond’s second appearance at Romania’s Heroes Fight League promotion and comes after he made his pro debut against the then 4-0 Ionuț Brostic this past November. None of Hammond’s three opponents have been able to take him into the second round.
Cowley, meanwhile, also picked up the third win of his professional career when he scored a second round TKO win against Alexandru Balaur, a fight which gets ‘The Warrior’ successfully back in the win column. Each of Cowley’s career wins have now come by KO or TKO.
