Paddy Pimblett has been handed his next Octagon assignment.
The former Cage Warriors champion, who is 2-0 since making his debut in the UFC last year, will fight the 10-1 Jordan Leavitt at the UFC’s return to the English capital on July 23 as he looks to continue to build his reputation in the UFC’s lightweight fold.
To date, Pimblett has earned two first round finishes in his career with the UFC, knocking out Luigi Vendramini in his first outing last year and submitting Kazula Vargas in March in featured bout as the organisation’s first date in London this calendar year.
Leavitt graduated to the UFC roster after impressing on the Contender Series and is 3-1 to date in the Octagon and will come into the fight on the back of two straight wins. He was handed a split decision win against Trey Ogden last month, which was added to an impressive inverted triangle submission of Matt Sayles in December.
He also holds a 22-second knockout win over UFC vet Matt Wiman on his career ledger.
The UFC’s latest London card will again take place in The O2 and is scheduled to be headlined by a heavyweight contest between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes. Elsewhere on the card, Darren Till fights Jack Hermansson and Molly McCann will take on Hannah Goldy.
UK fighters Paul Craig, Marc Diakese and Muhammad Mokaev are also set to compete on the card.
