On Saturday night, UFC veterans Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez will throw down in the BKFC ring for the promotion’s ‘King of Violence’ title — and judging by their staredown late on Wednesday, neither man is so far willing to take a backward step.
Perry and Alvarez, who have competed in a combined 62 professional mixed martial arts bouts throughout their combat careers, will use nothing but their fists to settle their differences this weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah. The bout will be Alvarez’s second for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion after he made his debut in April with a split decision win against another former UFC stalwart, Chad Mendes.
Perry, meanwhile, has become one of the biggest stars in the sans-gloves code of combat, earning three successive victories so far — with his two most recent coming against well-regarded mixed martial arts fighters Luke Rockhold and Michael ‘Venom’ Page.
And if their presser and ensuing staredown is any indication, Saturday’s fight will be a can’t-miss affair.
