It is all systems go for the UFC’s return to Abu Dhabi.
The mixed martial arts promotion returns to Abu Dhabi for its 19th event in the UAE on Saturday night (and their first since last September) with a card topped by an intriguing main event with serious implications in the UFC’s bantamweight fold between top contenders Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov.
Elsewhere on the card, rising middleweight star Shara Magomedov takes on Michał Oleksiejczuk in the co-main event, and there are also fan friendly matchups between former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueirdo and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, as well as Tony Ferguson, who will be seeking to end a seven-fight skid, who takes on Michael Chiesa.
And in what is a refreshing change from some recent UFC events that have seen mishaps on the scales, as well as fighters falling out at the last minute, each of the 26 fighters on the card successfully made weight early on Friday morning.
