Anthony Joshua has vowed to return to the ring in a video statement released just days after his knockout loss to British rival Daniel Dubois in Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
Joshua, the former two-time world heavyweight champion, was caught early in the fight by a Dubois right hand that collapsed him to the canvas and was largely unable to regain any form of control in the bout before IBF champ Dubois finally shut him down in the fifth.
The loss, the fourth of Joshua’s career, immediately prompted questions as to the future of the fighter who is set to turn 35-year-old in just a few weeks time.
But in a brief statement released on social media, AJ rejected suggestions that it is time to hang up his gloves and said that he is determined to take the positives from the fight as he moves forward with his career.

“What a rollercoaster journey, but do you know what the problem is? It is far from over yet,” Joshua said.
“We’ve done it once, we’ve done it twice, doing it a third time hasn’t been easy but I believe it is something I can achieve. It’s about making the right steps forward, working hard, improving and it has to come from here [gesturing to his heart] more than anything.
“It’s only been a day but I know when I sit back I know I’ve got a lot of this [heart], thanks for your support, thanks for being on this rollercoaster journey with me.
“Keep your seatbelts tight because deep down in here I know we have a lot more to bring to this game.”
