The much-anticipated showdown between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn set to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday night has hit a snag.

The bout, which is set to come more than two years after their initially scheduled contest was cancelled after Benn failed a pre-fight drug test, reawakens a rivalry involving their fathers, Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn, which was among the most fierce on the UK boxing scene in the 1990s.

But at Friday’s weigh-ins in the English capital, the 35-year-old Eubank Jr weighed in 0.2-pounds over the 160-pound limit – a relatively minor miss on the scales, but a miss nonetheless which will see him issued with a fine of £375,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Apparently in response to the development, Benn posted a video to social media saying: “Show me the money!”

Eubank Jr competed at around 167-pounds for much of his career. Benn, meanwhile, came in under the limit at 156-pounds.

Both Eubank Jr and Benn are subject to a rehydration clause that mandates neither may weigh more than 169-pounds on the morning of the fight.

Eubank Jr’s weight has been a subject of intense scrutiny since the fight was first announced, with his father, Chris Eubank, frequently expressing his concerns for the health of both fighters given the weight requirements for the fight.
