“The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko is close to returning.
According to reports, the Russian legend is back in training and close to finalizing a bout agreement. While there have been no official confirmations, FloCombat is reporting a likely opponent as Matt Mitrione, and the promotion playing host to be Bellator.

Emelianenko was last seen in June, where he had a less than impressive showing against Fabio Maldonado. Leading up to that fight, there was speculation that a decent win would result in Fedor finally making the jump to the UFC.
However, since then those rumours have died down and now it appears the Russian is set to rekindle his business relationship with old Strikeforce boss Scott Coker.
