For the third fight in succession, an Ian McCall bout has been pulled at the eleventh hour.

McCall has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Neil Seery at UFC Belfast after the flyweight fighter came down with an illness. Media were notified after Friday morning’s official weigh-ins. The details of his illness are not available at this time.

McCall’s two previously scheduled bouts against Ray Borg and Justin Scoggins were also cancelled after opponent withdrawals. This time, however, it is McCall who has been forced to pull out.

It is unclear what this will mean for Neil Seery, who officially made fighting weight of 126 pounds on Friday morning. His bout with McCall was scheduled to be the Team Ryano fighter’s last of his career, after he announced his retirement earlier this year. It remains to be seen whether the McCall vs. Seery bout will be rescheduled.

Losing this fight, especially so close to fight night, is a blow to the UFC Belfast card. Seery’s impending retirement was considered to be one of the more interesting fights on the card, particularly from an Irish point of view.

UFC Belfast had already lost its originally scheduled main event of Gunnar Nelson vs. Dong Hyun Kim, while James Krause also withdrew from his co-main event with Ross Pearson.
