With money fights against Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre clearly not coming to fruition, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has revealed he is no longer campaigning to be involved on UFC 206 in Toronto, Canada.
However, it must be said that the turnaround feels slightly odd. After all, with Luke Rockhold recently withdrawing from his rematch with Jacare Souza, Bisping now finds one of the divisions top four contenders free and ready to tussle.
While it makes sense the champion would be unwilling to step in and replace Rockhold on the original Fight Night card, with his requests for a 206 pay day in mind, why not have him face Jacare in Toronto?
Well, last night on UFC Tonight Bisping revealed that he was still dealing with a fractured orbital bone and requires a procedure on his knee, thus ruling himself out of UFC 206.

Despite that, the middleweight champion maintained that he would be open to fighting any of the top contenders, be it the winner of the upcoming Chris Weidman – Yoel Romero fight or be it Jacare, early next year.

Replacing the Jacare – Rockhold fight will be new main event Robert Whittaker vs. Derek Brunson. UFC Fight Night 101 takes place in Melbourne, Australia, on Nov. 27.
