Conor McGregor’s return to Dublin’s 3Arena is the hottest ticket in town.
McGregor is due to attend the UFC 303 press conference alongside Dana White and opponent Michael Chandler on Monday, June 3 inside Ireland’s largest indoor arena, in what is the first time that McGregor will have appeared in the venue in a formal capacity since a similar press engagement with Jose Aldo ahead of the their UFC 194 blockbuster featherweight title showdown.
Prior to that, McGregor fought just once inside the 3Arena (formerly known as The O2 Arena and The Point) in what was a 2013 first-round finish of Diego Brandao. The contest was McGregor’s first in approximately a year after sustaining a knee injury in a comprehensive decision victory over Max Holloway.
And such is McGregor’s draw in his native country that the free tickets for the event were snapped up reportedly less than four minutes after they were made available online on Wednesday at 10am local time in Ireland. According to its website, the 3Arena has a maximum capacity of 13,000.
“Wtf, McGregor presser tickets are being sold online straight away,” one fan posted online, while another said that “it sold out in less than four minutes.”
A third added: “I was 2900 [in the ticket queue]. Never got a look in at all.”
There have even been unconfirmed suggestions online that some tickets for the event (which, remember, were free) have been made available on the black market for as much as €100.
McGregor and Chandler will collide in the Octagon in the UFC 303 main event in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 29.
