Daniel Cormier apparently didn’t take kindly to Stipe Miocic’s recent assertions that Cormier should agree to a second fight for the world heavyweight title.
Miocic has been campaigning for a rematch consistently ever since he lost to Cormier last Summer, pushing the new champion and teasing him through social media. Most recently, Miocic tried a different angle, telling MMAFighting he believed Cormier was a gentleman like himself, and should the shoe have been on the other foot, he’d have granted the champion a rematch. In fact, Miocic said, Cormier owed him a second fight.

After apparently reading Miocic’s recent comments, Cormier took to social media to offer three explicit reasons why he wouldn’t fight the Ohio native for a second time.
“Reason 1: he’s being entitled, why have I fought since and he hasn’t,” Cormier wrote. “He lost the fight is he still the champ? Reason 2: I’m hurt. Reason3: how do I do it better? I beat him in a round last time?”

Cormier has been out of action since UFC 230, where he defended the heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis. While his next move is uncertain, a fight with Brock Lesnar appears to still be on the cards.
