Derrick Lewis is the latest name to be possibly facing a spell on the sidelines after the Nevada State Athletic Commission issued a series of medical suspensions in the wake of last Saturday’s event.

Lewis, who knocked Curtis Blaydes out with a vicious second-round uppercut, must have x-rays on his right hand and wrist before he can be cleared for competition by a medical professional. If he fails to do so, Lewis will be ineligible to compete until August 20 at least.

‘The Black Beast’ told the media shortly after his main event win that he would like a future fight with Alistair Overeem but it remains to be seen if the medical suspension will impact those place.

However, and as with all medical suspensions, it is most likely that Lewis will be able to resume hims career prior to the August 20 date mandated by the NSAC. Curtis Blaydes, meanwhile, is suspended until April 22 due to the knockout defeat he suffered against Lewis.

Jamall Emmers, who withdrew from his fight with Chas Skelly just moments beforehand due to back spasms, must also be cleared by medics as well as receive an MRI on his lumbar region.

Either further fighters are potentially facing six-month layoffs: Charles Rosa, Chris Daukaus, Andrei Arlovski, Danny Chavez, John Casteneda, Nate Landwehr, Shana Dobson and Jared Vanderaa.
