Leon Edwards is unimpressed by reports that the UFC is targeting a rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.
Edwards has been left on the outside looking in at welterweight, after the coronavirus pandemic scrapped his fight with Tyron Woodley in March. Since then, he’s long sought a fight with Masvidal, who attacked Edwards backstage in London last year. After hearing the UFC is considering a second go of Masvidal vs. Diaz, which ended via a controversial doctor’s stoppage, Edwards took to social media to share his displeasure.
“Could have fought number 3, yet chose to fight number 12,” Edwards wrote. “Eventually this pussy will fight me, I’m all for money fights but watching two journey men go at it again when it wasn’t even competitive is a joke. And this is the ‘BMF’.”

While Masvidal vs. Diaz II isn’t confirmed, ESPN revealed earlier that the promotion were looking to put the bout together with January 2021 as a potential date.
