Jared Cannonier is the next man up to challenge Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title, and some of the previous performances from ‘The Killa Gorilla’ more than show that he’s up to the task.

Mind you, there are few tougher asks than beating Israel Adesanya at 185-pounds. In fact, no one has ever done it before. Adesanya’s sole career defeat came at the hands of former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz, who was able to use his size and grappling prowess to flummox the Nigerian-born Kiwi.

So with that in mind, does Cannonier’s experience at higher weight classes serve him in good stead? He is one of just two men to hold KO or TKO wins in three separate weight divisions in the UFC (we’ll let you figure out who the other one is) but has settled in nicely at middleweight where he has wracked off successive wins against Derek Brunson and Kelvin Gastelum, to add to recent victories against the likes of Anderson Silva, Jack Hermansson and David Branch.
