Well, it finally happened. Demetrious Johnson has been dethroned as flyweight king.
In the co-main event of UFC 227, Henry Cejudo met Johnson in the middle of the UFC Octagon in an entertaining, technical fight. In the end, it went to the judges, who saw it as close as the fans. Those judges scored the bout 48-47, 47-48, 48-47.
It must go down as one of the most stunning UFC upsets in recent history.
In truth it was a hard fight to call. Both men showed elite level striking and wrestling, putting on a phenomenal contest all the way to the final bell. And Cejudo wasted no time in using his new platform as champion to call shots, requesting the winner of bantamweight title fight TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt.
What. A. Fight. 👀
