It is one win apiece in the rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier and after tasting defeat late Saturday night on ‘Fight Island’, Conor McGregor is looking forward to doing it all over again.
McGregor took to Twitter following the fight to pay tribute to Poirier for his performance, describing the Louisiana native as a “hell of a competitor” and added that a winner-takes-all rubber match between the two lightweight fighters is now set up nicely.
Thanks for the support everyone! Was not my night/morning in there but a great contest to improve on. I’m excited at the blockbuster trilogy I now have on my hands. Dustin is a hell of a competitor and I look forward to going again. God bless us all, happy Sunday ❤️
