A match-up between two of the featherweight division’s hardest hitters has been confirmed for the UFC’s trip to St. Louis in January.
Jeremy Stephens and Doo Ho Choi, the fighter better known as ‘The Korean Superboy’, will meet at the January 14th event at Scottrade Center in St. Louis. UFC officials confirmed the booking overnight.
Stephens (26-14), the self-proclaimed hardest puncher in the 145-pound division, last fought in September where he earned a ‘Fight of the Night’ decision victory against fellow veteran Gilbert Melendez to rebound from defeats to Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar in his previous two bouts. The 31-year-old has competed in the UFC 27 times since debuting with the organisation more than a decade ago.

Choi, on the other hand, is one of the featherweight fold’s newer members but has made quite an impressions in his four-fight tenure thus far. Last seen in a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender defeat to Cub Swanson a year ago, Choi has garnered a 14-2 professional record and three wins from his four UFC appearances so far. Much like Stephens, Choi is regarded for having some of the 145-pound division’s more concussive strikes, as well as tendency to meet his opponent in the centre of the cage, bite down on his mouthpiece and swing away.
Choi vs. Stephens joins a card which already features bouts between Vitor Belfort vs. Uriah Hall, Darren Elkins vs. Michael Johnson and Paige VanZant vs. Jessica Rose-Clark.
