Khamzat Chimaev appears to be looking for a return in June, and even seems to have an opponent in mind.
The up-and-coming force at 170 and 185-pounds has been out of action after a blistering start to his UFC career and was ruled out of a March 13 date with Leon Edwards just a couple of weeks ago. Chimaev has been suffering from lasting effects of the coronavirus, and was flown to Las Vegas to be treated by UFC doctors, a process that is apparently helping his recovery.
Posting to his social media, Chimaev wrote a thank you to UFC president Dana White for the aid, and made mention of seeing each other again in June.
“Want to say thank you to @danawhite and @ufc Give me medical treatment and taking care of me first class thank you and I’m very grateful see in June,” Chimaev wrote.
From there, Chimaev upped the anti, taking to twitter to respond to an old threat from welterweight Neil Magny about slapping him the moment they crossed paths.
“Be ready in June i’m going to give you real Chechen inside the cage and outside,” Chimaev posted.
