Justin Jaynes was hoping for a bountiful paycheck after betting his fight purse on him defeating Charles Rosa at last weekend’s UFC event in Las Vegas — but ended up collecting his fourth successive defeat via split decision.

But regardless of heading home without so much as a penny for his efforts in the cage, Jaynes says that he has “no regrets” after his wager and even says that he would do it again.

“No regrets,” the Michigan fighter wrote on social media. “I said it before the fight and I’ll say it again. I was prepared for all outcomes. If anyone thinks me losing this bet is going to break me they are sadly mistaken.”

Speaking after the fight, Rosa said that he feels for Jaynes after gambling his purse away but added that he respects the move he made.

“Hats off to Justin, much respect to him,” Rosa said. “I heard he bet his entire fight purse on himself… Unfortunately for him, the casino made some money tonight, but this is the price you pay doing this, the risk you take. I’m happy I got the win, I’m happy I got my money and it is what it is.”

“It’s what it is, highest highs and the lowest lows,” Jaynes wrote. “Ain’t no thing but a chicken wing. I think Walmart might be hiring security anyways,” added Jaynes, who is reported to have bet a sum of $25,000 on him to win the fight.

Perhaps more worryingly for Jaynes is that the UFC rarely holds on to fighters who embark on four-fight losing sequences — and with his UFC record now standing at 1-4, he finds himself on very uncertain ground.
