Alexander Volkanovski may have come up short, but he walked away with his head held high in Perth.
The featherweight champion was defeated by Islam Makhachev in the UFC 284 main event, but in truth it was an incredibly close fight that saw Makhachev pushed as hard as he ever has been.
As usual, there were plenty of fighters at home watching on with interest.
