Well, fans and viewers were nearly treated to one of Mark Hunt’s emphatic knockout victories, but instead at UFC 221, it was rising heavyweight Curtis Blaydes who emerged victorious in Perth, Australia.
While some might have rather seen the striking abilities of Hunt come out as the winner, that didn’t mean Blaydes was without his own appreciation. Plenty of his fellow UFC stars had compliments for ‘Razor’ Blaydes on social media following the contest.

Somehow I caught Uriah Faber’s expression right after Blaydes landed the takedown and we were making the same exact face 😱😬 #UFC221

I’m amazed at Blaydes’ ability to adjust after the damage he took in the first round! When fighters fight smart there’s always a little bit of this in me tho. #UFC221 pic.twitter.com/1FoYzAbNgh

Nothing makes me yell profanities at my tv more than Hunto getting taken down. #ufc221

Blaydes showed a lot of heart and an incredible chin to survive in the first round. Great win for him. #ufc221
