Despite currently being separated by two weight classes, Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya continue to fire shots in each other’s direction.
Adesanya came in for criticism online for some of his comments after he responded to Jones’ statement that even Adesanya’s own father was unsure that he could beat him, saying that Jones’ mother would be disappointed in him. Jones’ mother passed away in 2017.
Jones then took to Twitter to hit back at Adesanya, saying that his mother would indeed be proud of him for the work he has done throughout his career and the record he has set inside of the cage.
Sitting with tens of millions of dollars, children on fire about Jesus Christ, one of the greatest martial artist and world history. Sure my mom is disappointed 😂🤷🏾♂️ why you mad bro?

My mother was an amazing humanitarian. I know for a fact that the care project makes her more proud than anything I’ve done in the UFC.

Izzy thanks for giving me the opportunity to highlight my amazing mother this afternoon, now I’m just missing her. Are we still on for 2021?

Will fight me at any weight you said right?

Jones referenced Adesanya’s prophecy that both he and Jones will fight at International Fight Week next year, which would be in July (or so) but Jones’ recent move to heavyweight has potentially complicated things.
“Will fight me at any weight you said, right?” Jones wrote. “I called bullsh*t, I’m waiting for you. The world is waiting.”
Adesanya referenced this in an additional tweet of his own in which he seemed to suggest that a fight between he and Jones is inevitable and has since issued several more tweets aimed at Jones.
Jon Jones with the burn…ouch.
Listen crispy cream, it’s still 2020. 2021 soon come.
