All that’s left to do is to do it.
On Saturday, Israel Adesanya will attempt to regain the UFC middleweight title from his most consistent combat rival, Alex Pereira, who now owns three victories over the Nigerian-born Kiwi across two different combat codes following his late TKO victory last November in Madison Square Garden. The fight is a go after Friday’s weigh-ins, with both men hitting on or under their contracted weights of 185-pounds on the scales.
So too is the co-main event featuring the self-proclaimed ‘king’ of Miami, Jorge Masvidal, who will take on Brazilian submission expert and former world title challenger Gilbert Burns.
Just one fighter on the slate, Christian Rodriguez, missed his mark ahead of his main card fight with teenager Raul Rosas Jr., as he came in 1.5 pounds heavy for his bantamweight non-title fight.
