Today at the official weigh-ins for UFC Fight Island 6, Brian Ortega stunned onlookers by hitting the scales without his famous long hair.

While some speculated the move to rid himself of the luscious locks was in some way related to a tough weight cut, a report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto quickly proved the entire affair was far more worthy of credit.

Per the report, Ortega is set to donate his hair to Locks of Love, a U.S. based charity who states it’s “mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children free of charge.”
