Last weekend’s UFC 310 was a suitably fitting end to the organsiation’s final major event of 2024 featuring some dramatic finishes and star-making performances — but Dana White was still a little less than satisfied by some of the judging on hand.

The main source of the UFC boss’s ire was the heavyweight clash between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, which was won by the Frenchman by a unanimous judges’ decision of 29-28. However, this outcome came in direct contrast to the media members attending the event, each of whom scored the fight by the same points total in favour of the giant Russian striker who was seeking his fifth consecutive win in the UFC cage.

“So here’s what happened after that fight, you heard the boos, I went over to Volkov — I apologised to him, I thought he won the fight,” White told the media, including The Mac Life, post-fight in Las Vegas late on Saturday night.

“And then the head of the commission came over and said, ‘Listen, we feel like that second round was really close and could’ve gone either way both guys got rocked,’ I can’t remember [who] they thought had the worst of it in the second round but, you know.

“They were making the argument on why the fight was judged the way it was, I had a problem with the [Bryan Battle vs. Randy Brown] fight too. It doesn’t f*cking matter what I think, it really doesn’t because at the end of the day, they decide who wins and loses, not us.”

Elsewhere, White also stated his belief that three veterans on the card who all suffered defeats — Chris Weidman, Anthony Smith and Clay Guida — should hang up their 4oz gloves for good.
