There are few experiences in combat sports as satisfying as clawing a win back against someone who previously beat you.
In February of this year, that is exactly what Brandon Royval did when he scored a split decision win over former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno in a bout that came a little more than three years after their first fight in which Moreno scored a TKO win with a single second left in the first round on their UFC 255 clash in Las Vegas.
Royval’s reward? A UFC main event clash with the 24-year-old undefeated Japanese star Tatsuro Taira — a fighter who is 16-0 in his career, along with a flawless 6-0 run in the Octagon thus far.
