Caio Borralho is a problem at 185-pounds.
The 31-year-old Brazilian has been flawless in his UFC career to date after emerging from Dana White’s Contender Series, posting a 6-0 record (or 8-0 if you count his DWCS wins) for a career total of 16 victories against a sole defeat. In May, he scored what is arguably his biggest win to date with a second-round knockout of Scotland’s Paul Craig in a featured bout at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.
On Saturday in the UFC’s Apex facility outside of Las Vegas, Borralho will raise the stakes again when he takes on the former UFC middleweight title contender Jared Cannonier in a fight expected to have implications on the business end of this division currently lorded over by South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis.
And if he can repeat the manner of performance that dispatched Paul Craig a few months ago, the 185-pound fold may have a new title contender.
