UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland are set to renew their rivalry next month at UFC 312 in Sydney, Australia.

The pair first clashed last January in what was Strickland’s final night as champion (to date, at least) as he was marginally outpointed across five rounds by the South African, who has proved too tough a nut to crack so far in the UFC when paired with the divisional elite at 185-pounds.

Much of the talk in the build-up has been focused on Strickland’s desire for another stand-up war similar to that of their first fight, even if Du Plessis was successful in numerous takedown attempts which likely swayed the bout in his favour. One thing is likely for sure though, both men will be wearing the same type of damage on their faces if their second chapter also goes five rounds.
