Geoff Neal gets an opportunity for what we imagine would be a very fulfilling victory at next month’s UFC 298.
The American, 15-5 in his professional career, was due to fight Irishman Ian Machado Garry last summer before he was forced to withdraw due to injury. The bout came with a little extra spice to it after Garry made light of Neal’s past legal problems by arranging for the production of a t-shirt bearing Neal’s mugshot, prompting scorn from Neal himself and some some sections of the MMA community.
But after Garry defeated Neal’s replacement, Neil Magny, in emphatic fashion this past August Neal will get his chance to gain revenge when he battles the Dubliner in a featured bout at February’s UFC 298 card from Anaheim, California.
And if he puts in the type of showing he did in his most recent win against Vincente Luque (whom Garry withdrew from a fight with in December), the heavy-handed Neal has every opportunity to claim a win. Check out his performance below, while you can see Garry’s own win against Daniel Rodriguez here.
