Let’s try this one again, shall we?

It was confirmed overnight by UFC boss Dana White that Azerbaijani striker Rafael Fiziev will step in for Dan Hooker against Justin Gaethje in the UFC 313 co-main event on March 8 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The hastily-arranged bout comes almost exactly two years after the pair’s first meeting, which Gaethje won by majority decision in what was a gritty, stand-up affair in which both men took their licks.

Fiziev comes into the fight on the back of a two-fight skid, having succumbed to a knee injury in a September 2023 loss to Mateusz Gamrot — in what was his sixth Performance or Fight of the Night in succession.

And you can expect more of the same when he makes his comeback early next month.
