As Jon Anik would say, one more sleep.

On Saturday night in the UFC’s 20th visit to Abu Dhabi, Max Holloway will seek to become a two-time UFC featherweight champion when the reigning UFC ‘BMF’ faces the unbeaten 27-year-old champion Ilia Topuria in the featured attraction of a bumper UFC 308 card to be beamed live around the world from the United Arab Emirates.

And after a somewhat contentious lead-in, during which Topuria has repeatedly invited Holloway into a brawl in the opening 10 seconds of the bout, the two standout 145-pounders came face-to-face for the final time before the cage door shuts tomorrow night at the ceremonial weigh-ins on Friday — and it’s safe to say that both men are dialled in to the extreme.

Elsewhere, the co-main event fighters Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev, also took part in a smouldering staredown on the eve of their contest, with neither man willing to cede an inch of territory to the other.
