The last major UFC event of the year is upon us.

On Saturday night inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the UFC’s flyweight title will be up for grabs when Alexandre Pantoja puts the 125-pound world title on the line against the debuting Japanese fighter Kai Asakura, a fighter for many years considered to be among the best lower-weight fighters outside of the UFC roster.

However, despite the title fight topping the card much of the intrigue surrounding the event is centered on the co-main event which will pit two undefeated welterweights in Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Garry against one another — with an opportunity to face 170-pound champion Belal Muhammad the prize on offer for the fighter who emerges from the cage with their unbeaten record intact.

Elsewhere on the card, Ciryl Gane will look to repeat his prior victory over giant Russian fighter Alexander Volkov as both seek to establish themselves near the top of the heavyweight queue for if and when Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall settle their business.
