Vicente Luque’s name will go down in history as being the first fighter in mixed martial arts history to record a finish in New York City after he stopped Belal Muhammad inside the first round at UFC 205.
Luque, a replacement for Lyman Good who was removed for the card by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation, took less than 90 seconds to get past Muhammad, dropping his opponent with a slick left hook and following up with strikes on the ground before referee John McCarthy stepped in to stop the bout.
